Looking out from the lobby of the building I work in. I see clumps of snow, and a large truck with men lifting large boxes from its behind. A medley of poorly parked beige and grey cars reflect not only the sky, but my current mood too.

I am sitting in my car, in the library lot, trying to wake up for the day. So, it was the perfect opportunity to stare out my car window and check out the area.

From where I was sitting, I see a fenced-in, open field. There are a few people taking their morning walk around. The air is cool and crisp, so, many of them are in their fall jackets. Across the way, I see Main St., which from where I sit, I see the local Italian deli, an Italian restaurant, and an Irish pub. None of these places are open just yet, but they will be around 11:00 AM.

There are some cars parked at the side street parking; probably, the employees looking to start their day. Considering it was so early in the morning, the hustle and bustle of the town has yet to begin.

I, then, notice the weather and, unfortunately, it is a grim day in the New York State. There’s a threat of rain in the air and I am awaiting the inevitable downpour. By this point, I have finished my drink and have woken up sufficiently. I suppose it is time to clock into work.

The sun, the bright glorious sun. All else sways, buzzes, and flies in it's glory. As homage.

The pavement is heating up, and soon snakes and lizards will venture out to collect. The trees become greener and greener as a blessing. They soak it up, drink it up. I'll go warm my feet for a time, and say thanks.

It's 5:36 am right now, and here in the Central timezone it's still dark. Looking out of the sliding glass window of my apartment, I see the outdoor lights are on, so I can see the grassy area between the apartment buildings. It's literally freezing outside, but there is no snow. I see the skeletons of the trees across this grassy area. I think of this area as The Village Green. It's peaceful right now, which is soothing. The children play on this green after school, and I'm glad they have a lawn to play on. It's so green here, even in March, with frosty temperatures in the early morning, which amazes me, as I moved here from Southern California, where trees were dying and water was expensive. I feel gratitude that my husband and I were able to escape California 3 years ago.
