I was covering the Iowa State Fair in 2019, my dad was with me taking photos, and we were driving to a Biden rally at an abandoned fairgrounds in the middle of nowhere, along this claustrophobically thin highway with giant cornstalks on all sides, and we were just mowing down butterflies, thousands of monarchs migrating south, so many that we had to slow down because the car was getting dark, and I looked at my phone and said, “Holy shit, Epstein is dead.” And my dad said, “Who’s Jeffrey Epstein?”
