Trump doesn’t make it easy to vote for him, in my opinion. I know this was something you contemplated because I listen to your show! I didn’t want him at first either, in 2016 and now. I think it comes down to basic physics- for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Thank you for sticking your neck out there and not being afraid!

Also, Biden lied to us. He said he was going to bring back normal. He and Kamala were going to be the adults in the room after four years of non-stop Trump Twitter drama. But nothing about his administration was normal. It's been one catastrophic disaster after another much worst than Trump, minus only Twitter drama. I sat out 2020 but this time, I'm all in for Trump/Vance. I have little hope for Trump to accomplish anything but more important to me now is to stop the insanity on the left. Just like Bridget.

Great arguments!! I, too, will be voting Trump. Ultimately, my issue is free speech. Hate speech IS free speech, despite what the Dems think. I cannot vote for that insanity. I know Trump (and the Republicans) will ultimately disappoint, but at least w/ Trump, there's a chances for something positive. The Dems offer nothing.

Trump is bad on speech. He took action against outlets that criticized him as president. He promises to shut them down if elected

This is not comprehensive, but here are some examples of Trump's attacks on the press:

While campaigning in 2016, he promised to use governmental power to retaliate against private speech that he disapproved of.

Trump said that "Bezos bought the Washington Post for 'political influence so that Amazon will benefit from it. ... If I become president, oh, do they have problems,' Trump said at the rally. 'They’re going to have such problems.'"

https://apnews.com/article/676887618b38f71e63c2c6f108d9edf1

He was very clear he wanted to punish Bezos for speech.

https://archive.is/G0Fvi

"A former speechwriter for Defense Secretary James Mattis reported that Trump had directed Mattis to 'screw Amazon.'"

https://archive.is/demry#selection-1445.185-1449.50

He then killed the $10 billion Amazon Pentagon contract.

Bezos now appears to be cowed, and is directly managing Washington Post coverage---to the benefit of Trump.

Furthermore, in 2022, he promised to imprison reporters who didn't divulge sources:

"'When this person realizes that he is going to be the bride of another prisoner shortly, he will say, 'I'd very much like to tell you exactly who that was,'" Trump told an appreciative crowd at a Texas rally. And Trump said he wouldn't limit it to the reporters: 'The publisher too — or the top editors.' He made the same claim two weeks later at an Ohio rally."

https://www.npr.org/2024/10/22/nx-s1-5161480/trump-media-threats-abc-cbs-60-minutes-journalists

He called for ABC broadcasts to be shut down by the FCC because moderators said things he didn't like. The FCC Chairman appointed by Trump, Ajit Pai, responded: "The FCC under my leadership will stand for the First Amendment."

https://www.reuters.com/business/media-telecom/fcc-chair-rejects-trump-call-pull-abc-licenses-over-presidential-debate-2024-09-19/

He explicitly wants Comcast to be "investigated" for its "coverage."

https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/111122815628828712

He didn't like the content of a 60 Minutes segment, and called for that speech to be prosecuted under the law.

https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/113277179676731743

He has now filed a $10 billion lawsuit to punish that speech.

Sorry, there's a lot in here, and haven't looked into all of it, but in the interest of providing feedback immediately, I am going after this statement first (again, I'll do others later)

He called for ABC broadcasts to be shut down by the FCC because moderators said things he didn't like.

Not true. They said things that were untrue, he didn't like them, and they violated federal regulations. The reason ABC is in trouble is very specific- this was a debate between two candidates IAW 11 CFR 110.13, with the applicable portion being included here:

(b) Debate structure. The structure of debates staged in accordance with this section and 11 CFR 114.4(f) is left to the discretion of the staging organizations(s), provided that:

(1) Such debates include at least two candidates; and

(2) The staging organization(s) does not structure the debates to promote or advance one candidate over another.

The decision to fact-check Trump (and of note, falsely and in a defamatory manner) and not Harris runs afoul of that second point. Those moderators knew ahead of time that they were going to push back on Trump and not on Harris with her whoppers, they knew the questions they were going to ask were going to focus on dem talking points, and in doing so structured that debate outside the bounds of the CFR. Trump's point is valid, and ABC should rightly be concerned because a presidential debate is more than just a broadcast or speech, it is a specifically sanctioned event. Let me ask you, did Reuters inform you of the counter point before trying to shape your mind? Doesn't seem like it to me, but that's what they want you to be, reactionary. Let them tell you what to think and what's important.

Let's do this one real quick as well - He didn't like the content of a 60 Minutes segment, and called for that speech to be prosecuted under the law. Yep and they should be sued. What 60 minutes was doing doesn't fall under free speech, it falls under deceptive business practices which is credibly what they're doing. What they did is they represented that Harris gave an answer that she never did, far beyond editing down a lengthy response to a shorter one as they claim they did. Here's the thing, you know this is what they did because they refuse to release the transcript of the full interview so that viewers can decide for themselves what actually transpired. I mean to take 60 minutes side, you would have to believe that the interest of free speech and a well informed populace is best met by 60 minutes colluding with the government (Harris is the VP after all) and HIDING what was actually said, which is facially ridiculous. By the way, this whole suit could have been avoided if 60 minutes would just release the whole transcript so that people could know in totality whether or not 60 minutes accurately represented answers to issues of national importance.

Thanks for digging these up. But I don't find these completely convincing. His own rants on Truth Social is consistent with his always saying a lot of outrageous stuff, most of which are just exaggerations and nonsense to rile up his supporters. The alleged retaliation against Amazon is worth considering if true. But even the article you cited reported a much more nuanced picture. Assuming he did have a personal grievances, was it the ultimate reason, or were there other more important motivating factors like lobbying by other companies and wanting to award the work to multiple companies instead of one company? As for his directing people to do crazy things, it could well be him asking them is it possible to do these things, rather than him ordering people to,do them and then firing people when they told him no. I recall most people resigned rather than being fired. I so think he must be a giant PITA to work for and not a reasonable boss. But it's really hard to know from just a few articles what transpired behind the scene. Lastly, your article from New York Magazine, especially published only as recently as this past September, is to me a hit piece. That magazine is so blatantly biased against him and the right, I for one don't trust anything they say anymore. The entire magazine is completely ideologically captured.

I am so with you, Bridget! I ended up holding my nose and overriding my gag reflex and voting Trump for the first time. I didn't say I voted FOR him. I voted AGAINST a party I no longer recognize. (My usual default of voting write-in or third party seemed not to send the same message. I thought leaving the top spot blank would cause CA to throw out my ballot.)

I can no longer trust 'experts' in media, science, education, public health, the economy, the military, or any institution that should have ALL Americans' best interests at heart, because they may be ideologically captured and acting in bad faith. Our most recently confirmed Supreme Court Justice either could not define what a woman is or was too afraid to try.

Although childless, I voted for the party that will give the next generation a fighting chance.

I agree with everything you said and I don't think you're going to eat any of these words. In fact, I think that the things that you mentioned are all a lot worse than you've articulated here. It is amazing to me how many people can't see how insane even some of the basic things like men in women's locker rooms is, not to mention the fact that they can't or won't even acknowledge that there are real differences between the two.

I've always disagreed with that old adage about doing the same thing over and over again is the definition of insanity. No, that's just stupidity. Turn on the TV and watch the news. THAT is fucking insanity. I'm with you. I'm not waving any flags for Trump, but I'm going to vote for him because voting for this vapid, giggling, empty husk of a menstruating person to be THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES is fucking insane. I would 100% vote for President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho than vote for this dummy.

This was superb, I had to show it to my wife and daughter and shared it to some friends. Just yesterday I spoke with a work friend, had a wonderful 2 and a half hour discussion. He thought I must have leaned left because of my age but he and I, as well as Bridget, are kindred spirits in this clown world, awakened to the spiritual battle for the soul of America. My work friend told me he was never political, never followed the news until the last year or so and now he is going to town meetings and sees the media lying about everything. I don't think there is going back to sleep after this, we have been activated for battle. Thank you Bridget for being the voice of the voiceless for so many of us going through this awakening.

This is me exactly. In 2016 I couldn't believe what a buffoon and a lightweight Trump was. In 2020 I couldn't believe what a doddering idiot Biden was. But the evil insidiousness of the left machine is horrifying. It's boob chopping, it's dicks in girls locker rooms, it is America hating and indifference to free speech and freedom. Well stated Bridget!! Now, let's see Trump with a squirrel!!
