Will Never Vote For Trump Again

Real people. Real letters. Real problems. No solutions.
8

Politics these days have become so divided and divisive that it’s become the norm to view the other side of the aisle as “the enemy”. People are being told to “pick a side” and that there’s no room for middle ground. We here at Phetasy believe that there are a lot more people in the middle than politicians and the media would have us believe.

We’re collecting stories from the ever growing number of people who are finding themselves Politically Homeless and posting them here on Substack. If you have moved from conservative to liberal, or liberal to conservative, if you feel you’ve stayed in the same place and your party has swerved drastically away from you, if you had a moment that awakened you to the insanity and hypocrisy on both sides, if you keep your mouth shut anytime a political topic comes up because you’re afraid your opinion will cause you to lose friends or your job, you’re not as alone as you might think.

Our goal is to shine a light on people’s earnest, individual experiences and show them they’re not alone.

Some letters have been edited for clarity and brevity. If you’re politically homeless and would like to share your story, please email us at iampoliticallyhomeless@gmail.com. All submissions will remain anonymous.

Letter 73:

January 15th, 2024

Hi,

I am a suburban woman (40 years old, white, two kids, advanced degree) who voted for Trump in 2016 and 2020.  I will never vote for him again.  I am so disappointed that he did so well tonight…we as a people don’t care at all about morals or decency anymore.

I can’t stand the people that are for him on Twitter.  People like Laura Loomer are psychotic to me —and he likes her!  She deserves multiple restraining orders.

The main reasons I will not vote for Trump ever again are: 1) he has never admitted all the wrong he did on Covid.  He still pushes a vaccine that is useless and hurting people and 2) when he talked badly about DeSantis the night before the governor’s election I realized there was no low too low for him to stoop.  Talking poorly about his own state’s governor the night before an election showed me that he will never care about the conservative movement, only himself.

This is all compounded by the fact that he has been more than happy for all of his minions to talk crap about people voting for DeSantis—not DeSantis but DeSantis voters.  He is the least unifying person ever, and I think he will lose even more decisively in 2024.

I am mad at myself for voting for him in 2020 and having no moral standards for an American president.

I also despise Biden.  I will likely vote for RFK Jr if DeSantis can’t pull off some sort of miracle.

Sincerely,

Politically Homeless
