Similar journey for me, too. I feel the left has moved so far from its source and original values, that it doesn't seem to represent anything, apart from identity politics, which just seem to be dividing, rather than uniting people. All the things that I, and others, considered left/liberal would now be considered conservative/alt-right in this new messed-up normal.
Try being Indian. We're nearly half the global population and have the worst representation we can ask for. Mindy Kaling? Bobby Jindal? Kamala Harris? LMFAO. None of these famous Indians have done anything to have the greater society appreciate and love our culture.
