I was a good drinker and still am I think. I drink to a plateau and just stay there as long as I can. Too me drinking was a marathon not a race. Happy drunk never mean or violent like some I know. I never wanted to miss anything that happened during the night but I also wanted to have a good time. I could easily see myself sliding down the slope to rock bottom. These days I only drink at our cabin where I have no responsibilities or places to go or a set time to do things.

Props to you Bridget.

As for Gen Z I have two daughters one born in 1999 who thinks of herself as an extrovert Millennial and the other born in 2002 who is an introvert Gen Z. I did my best to pump as much of Gen X into their lives as I could. Got them to love movies and going to the theater(Star Wars, Star Trek, Dr. Who aka nerd stuff), exposed them to music from every era Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson to Beatles to New Wave, and 80s Rock and Pop. Got my girls into Ice Hockey ( saving them from the middle school and HS girl clicks), and took them to comedy clubs before they were of age. Adam Ray, Taylor Tomlinson, Rosebud, Christina P, Mark Normand, Dustin Nickerson, Sam Tallent, and the Are You Garbage Boys. Shows like Stranger things, Farscape, Buffy, X Files etc also really help off set the junk that all of their friends watch. I feel I did a pretty good job. On the drinking front I preached its a marathon not a sprint. You want to be there at the start of the party and still be standing at the end. I hammered this home as much as I could. Seems to be working so far.

(Near 8:12...) That description plus the Mexican weather report triggered Bert Kreischer's story about "The Machine". Swirled together and you become "La Maquina!".
