Such a fantastic discussion. When I was at the NSSR I took a class on Feminism and its history. It was eye opening. Ever since that class I have called myself a 19th Century Feminist. The authors and writings from 1800-1920 I think best captured the issues women faced-voting, violence, family, wealth, and work. It's not that the second wave were bad, we needed their voice and action as it took a long time to achieve what the early writers spoke about. But like what happened in the LGBTQ space once the big battles were one, the continued push was down pathways that were new issues. This was instead of waiting for follow through on issues like kit backlogs, women's rights in other regions, and IPV. These are evergreen issues, but because they are not flashy they were submerged under other battles.
In any case, excellent points, great interview. I look forward to more.
Oh yeah! Jennifer Sey's book Levi Unbuttoned was a great read! And I just got a pair of leggings from XX-XY
I really enjoyed her book Levi’s unbuttoned
Glad to see her on your show Bridget!!
“Embrace the healing power of ‘and’”. 😂 love this!
You need to schedule her back. She's great. She can bring it.
