Yours was one of the more interesting letters I've read here. I would be interested to know your take on JD Vance, as I've seen virulent attacks on him from both the 'far far' right (I try to read a variety of opinions) as well as from the predictable establishment left who would, of course, have savaged anyone Trump had chosen.

I loved this letter and can relate to it in many ways. The label of 'far right' is just bonkers nowadays. Things that once would have been considered moderate or centrist (such as controlling borders etc..) are now deemed as bordering on facist! And not being able to voice concerns over such issues without being demonised is pushing people into a corner. We can now see (in the European parliament elections, and in the English and French national elections) that people are giving up hope with the main parties and are voting more to the right. Not because they are necessarily right wing, but because they cannot talk about important issues without being called any number of slurs (racist/islamophobic/transphobic etc etc..) It's insane.

If we had a party with your platform, they would get 80% of the vote. Right now politics is just run off of emotion and fear of being exiled. My strategy is to vote out the incumbents, then maybe at some point the politicians might think they have to listen to us.
