Politically Homeless In Canada
Real people, real letters, real problems, no solutions.
Politics these days have become so divided and divisive that it’s become the norm to view the other side of the aisle as “the enemy”. People are being told to “pick a side” and that there’s no room for middle ground. We here at Phetasy believe that there are a lot more people in the middle than politicians and the media would have us believe.
We’re collecting stories from the ever growing number of people who are finding themselves Politically Homeless and posting them here on Substack. If you have moved from conservative to liberal, or liberal to conservative, if you feel you’ve stayed in the same place and your party has swerved drastically away from you, if you had a moment that awakened you to the insanity and hypocrisy on both sides, if you keep your mouth shut anytime a political topic comes up because you’re afraid your opinion will cause you to lose friends or your job, you’re not as alone as you might think.
Our goal is to shine a light on people’s earnest, individual experiences and show them they’re not alone.

Letter 52:
8/2/23
Firstly, I am very pleased to have found Phetasy. You all make me smile, laugh, weep, think, observe, reflect, grow and stay open to the many varied positions on topics which I may not ever have had the opportunity to hear. Well done.
Secondly, the good citizens of the USA are not alone in their Political Homelessness nor their instinctual and insightful truth of knowledge as to domestic, international and geopolitical influences and impeding processes into the human experience as it is at this moment.
I am a 70 year old Western Canadian woman and just sharing that I have been Politically Homeless (not to mention Politically Alienated and Abandoned) in Canada and most prevalent, in the great Western Canadian Province of Alberta, for over 25 years. All of my considered observations of the Phetasy discourse in regard to the polarization and continued erosion of our collective souls I have observed parallel the Canadian - especially the Albertan - experience of almost everyone I know (and being in my 8th decade on the planet, I know and have known a few people).
SO ...... Carry on my friends. We are all in this together and in the end, it comes down to each of us as individuals banding together through community and communication - however possible regardless of censorships, nefarious 'rules' and unsanctioned 'laws'.
Thank you for your continued contribution to our expanding and real education.
Sincerely,
Politically Homeless
