This one was fantastic to read. Very entertaining… and depressing.

Welcome to Austin (fellow California refugee). But man, it took you a looooong time to see the light. The Left has always been the party of control … their MO is convincing you that they care and that government is the answer to your problems. This was always a lie.

Wow, loved that one! So real and raw.

I love how this whole story was sort of a humble brag about blowjobs. 90s Politics through the eyes of a teenage boy… it rhymes with what I experienced as well.

You're just not rich enough to be a liberal... Isn't it the ultimate status that uncontrolled immigration, inflation, war have no impact on your lifestyle. Until it does....

Fantastic. Also been reading Matt Taibbi’s speech from Sept 29 and I have to say, these two articles have clinched it for me today. I am no longer a centrist, and the left is morally reprehensible. Sigh.

Ugh. This is like the Californians flooding Texas.

This may be the best letter yet. Very similar to my own experience even though I'm still in California. I hate what has happened to my state. But its my home and I am pretty much stuck here due to family obligations etc. I'm tempted to leave, but I also feel that urge to rage against the dying of the light :/

I had your epiphany in 2000. It was then I switched to Ron Paul / Libertarian Party.

The Democrats have been largely the same since 1968. Their facade changes but their politics do not.

The Republicans have been largely the same since the 1980's. Their politics change but their facade does not.

I now identify as off-compass. :)
