Voting For A 2 Party Candidate For Once In My Life - Politically Homeless

Real people. Real letters. Real problems. No solutions.
2

Politics these days have become so divided and divisive that it’s become the norm to view the other side of the aisle as “the enemy”. People are being told to “pick a side” and that there’s no room for middle ground. We here at Phetasy believe that there are a lot more people in the middle than politicians and the media would have us believe.

We’re collecting stories from the ever growing number of people who are finding themselves Politically Homeless and posting them here on Substack. If you have moved from conservative to liberal, or liberal to conservative, if you feel you’ve stayed in the same place and your party has swerved drastically away from you, if you had a moment that awakened you to the insanity and hypocrisy on both sides, if you keep your mouth shut anytime a political topic comes up because you’re afraid your opinion will cause you to lose friends or your job, you’re not as alone as you might think.

Our goal is to shine a light on people’s earnest, individual experiences and show them they’re not alone.

Some letters have been edited for clarity and brevity. If you’re politically homeless and would like to share your story, please email us at iampoliticallyhomeless@gmail.com. All submissions will remain anonymous.

Letter 104:

May 28, 2024

I'm a father of two young boys living in a major city. A home owner and currently I work for a massive corporation as a project manager. I used to be a computer engineer. I've been in the Air Force Reserves for 17 years in Cyber Infrastructure and deployed to an area of conflict 2 times. I have been independent politically since I was 21. I have voted libertarian as I prescribe to a 3rd party need more than what either party has brought to the table. I have lived in 10 different states and I have friends and family from every walk of life. My father was a coal miner when I was young but studied and became an Electrical and Mechanical Engineer, my mother has a high school education but was a bank manager until she retired a decade ago.

I had a thought recently at how frustrated I am with so much. The blatant weaponization of financial institutions, the DOJ, and the Judiciary. The obvious destabilization tactics around the globe by our 3 letter agencies and military. The deaf ears to multiple needs at home and the eye watering amounts of money and effort poured into other nations to maintain hegemonic control.

A few years ago if you asked if I would vote Trump I would have laughed and said no, mostly because of my 3rd party leanings, but Dems and bureaucrats have done something that Trump couldn't do himself, I now sympathize with Trump way more than I thought possible. So for once in my entire life I will be voting for a two party candidate and it will be Trump.

All The Best,

Politically Homeless
