Politics these days have become so divided and divisive that it’s become the norm to view the other side of the aisle as “the enemy”. People are being told to “pick a side” and that there’s no room for middle ground. We here at Phetasy believe that there are a lot more people in the middle than politicians and the media would have us believe.
We’re collecting stories from the ever growing number of people who are finding themselves Politically Homeless and posting them here on Substack. If you have moved from conservative to liberal, or liberal to conservative, if you feel you’ve stayed in the same place and your party has swerved drastically away from you, if you had a moment that awakened you to the insanity and hypocrisy on both sides, if you keep your mouth shut anytime a political topic comes up because you’re afraid your opinion will cause you to lose friends or your job, you’re not as alone as you might think.
Our goal is to shine a light on people’s earnest, individual experiences and show them they’re not alone.

Letter 100:
July 16, 2024
I started becoming wary of voting liberal when Debbie Schultz colluded with Hillary Clinton to screw Bernie in Nevada. I was so mad when Hillary hired her immediately after she was forced to resign from the DNC. I still voted liberal because I bought into how evil Trump was, and it felt like the DNC had us over a barrel to accept it or extinction.
I watched Bernie get screwed again when everyone dropped out in 2020 to support Biden because Bernie was cleaning up the votes. I made myself swallow my pride to vote blue again.
Again, the same party is using racism, trans rights, roe v wade to blackmail us into keeping these people in power, and I'm over it. I'm voting for Trump even though I don't like him because I think we need to send a message about being blackmailed by people who have no intention of fixing stuff they can use to run elections forever.
I'm fully aware that my perception and understanding of all the events could be completely wrong. I could be missing the forest for the trees, but my party hasn't done a great job providing any reassurance or proof otherwise. I've lost faith that the party is for the people, and not just to leverage people's empathy in exchange for power.
Sincerely,
Politically Homeless
