Phetasy News - The Summer of Fun

Greetings from the Phetaverse!
We are on the other side of Memorial Day and for those of us in the Northern hemisphere that means we’ve entered my favorite season, summer. I love summer. I love the heat. I love the long nights. And because I have strong core memories of spending idyllic summers with aunts, uncles, grandparents, siblings and cousins on the beach—I associate summer with fun.
In a forthcoming crossover event I did with Dr. Drew Pinsky, he mentioned one thing that he worries about in our hyper polarized culture of the moment that stuck out to me — people are losing the ability to have fun. They’re stuck in negative ruts or they’re spending too much time fighting with people online. Instead of looking for ways to get out and connect to other people, they’re looking for ways to be offended. Whatever it is, there seems to be a war on having a good time.
I sincerely try to be the change I wish to see in this world. Inspired by my daughter, and in honor of my friend, Chris, who recently passed away, (one of the most jovial humans I’ve ever known), I’m determined to embrace the spirit of summer fun. Mischief and laughter and dancing and laughing. Chase some fireflies. Play in the river. Idle time away blowing bubbles and finger painting.
Some of the most fun I’ve ever had has been on stage telling jokes. In order to hold myself accountable, I’m stating out loud it’s high time I shake the rust off and get back to it.
We found someone to help us with lighting! Dumpster Fire will be returning next week. As will the Sarah Connor workouts** and the writing prompts. In the meantime, check out my interview with Gutfeld co-host Kat Timpf.
What are your plans this summer? How are you going to have fun?
