The memoir of a sour, tedious-pompous-troubled man abusing his poor young son on the back of a waay too long motorcycle ride. Not a deep thought to be found about either ancient Greek philosophy or even enlightened hippie musings (see: "Jonathan Livingston Seagull" or the Carlos Castaneda books.) How this zen-wannabe dreck reached astronomical sales figures is one of the mysteries of the Baby Boomer consensus trance.....However, some good tips on motorcycle repair.
Hi Bridget! Just wanted to say thank you for picking this book. ❤️🙏
Having just moved out your way to Austin last week, I’ve got the usual move/job/ apartment hunting stress.
The doubts. The worries. The “what the fuck did I do’s?!?” 😅
So I took a nice ride out to Bastrop to check out Ryan Holiday’s little bookstore, and picked up “Zen and the Art…”. And not even halfway through page 5, I can FEEL my body relaxing. With each passing paragraph, I’m further struck with the divine timing/understanding that slow is ok, the journey IS the point, and the scenic route (AKA my weird, winding life 😅😂) is actually where the best memories are found.
