Maybe it’s time to admit I have a problem. I’m addicted to making stuff. And I can’t stop. Since I wrote about The Year of “No” six months ago, I have started two more shows and agreed to be a guest host on another one (although I found out yesterday that was canceled—God doing for me what I cannot do for myself).
I was approached by 2Way, a new network started by Mark Halperin, to start a show and immediately the idea for Real America was born. It was launched almost tens years to the day from my entry into the culture wars. One of the things I love about what Mark is doing, is hearing from normal people. A problem I see in media old and new is that they’ve stopped talking to normies and instead only talk to each other. Real America takes me back to my roots as a waitress, talking to people from all walks of life about whatever is top of mind for them. Spoiler: it’s not usually politics. If you want to be a member of the live virtual audience, we’d love to have you. Please register at 2way.tv/bridgetzoom.
Our new content schedule is aggressive. Two Dumpster Fires every week. One Walk-Ins Welcome. And now, Real America which is a live show online.
I’m slightly worried that all of this content is creating “inbox fatigue” for my Substack subscribers and in an effort to avoid clogging up your inbox, we will be doing two things.
Many people don’t know there are ways to unsubscribe from the different categories within the Phetaverse. We will be making detailed instructions for you to refer to soon.
I’m going to start a Weekly Phetasy Digest of sorts, I’m noodling with the idea of calling it the Phetasy Pulse, where I put all the content we created in a neat little package with links PLUS my three favorite things. It could be a book. A recipe. A meme. A song. It’s whatever grabbed my attention that week, moved me, or made me think.
And finally—as for Factory Settings, Another Round and all the other paywalled content for our paid supporters—it’s not gone. We haven’t forgotten. In the past six months we’ve unified our whole Phetasy Pham under one virtual roof, redid our entire studio, and launched a new show. I have come to accept that things will always be crazy around here because I’m crazy and there is always more coming down the pipes. But now we have a bit of help, so that should enable us to stay on top of maintaining the content we promise for the people who make it possible for us to thrive. You. Our supporters.
As always, we are so grateful to you for believing in us and coming with us on this ride.
REAL AMERICA WITH BRIDGET PHETASY
Why Do You Love America?
This week on Real America, Bridget brought the Fourth of July a week early to ask how you guys feel about America. Do you love it? What do you love about it? Real America is always personal—it’s a show about you—but this episode, beginning with Bridget’s opening monologue, is especially personal. Bridget didn’t book a guest this week because she wanted the stage to be fully yours.
WALK-INS WELCOME - EPISODE 344
How Amanda Knox Found Strength In Prison
Bridget talks with Amanda Knox about her wild ride from wrongful conviction to reclaiming her life, as detailed in her new book, Free. She candidly examines how she survived prison and what life looked like on the other side, wrestling with trust (and distrust), her relationship with the media, and the realization that when you pray to God for strength He doesn’t give you strength, He gives you the opportunity to be strong.
DUMPSTER FIRE - EPISODE 226
Democrats have a Demon Problem
We may or may not be entering WW3. And Tucker is blaming demons for nuclear weapons. But don’t worry, the Left has its priorities straight: They want to mutilate your child’s genitals. They’re mad because the Supreme Court won’t let them. All of this happened over three days. The news cycle is so fast and crazy that Bridget delivers a blanket response for any news that takes place between the filming and airing of Dumpster Fire: “Sorry about that enormous thing that happened after we filmed this.”
DUMPSTER FIRE - EPISODE 227
Democrats Have A Daddy Problem
Rich white liberals have ruined New York City once again … by nominating a Socialist as the Democratic mayoral candidate. This whippersnapper, this f*ckin guy. He ran on cheaper halal. But here’s the thing about socialism: It only works in the minds of trust-fund theater kids. People will realize this, right? We’re not going to wind up with full-blown Socialism, right? In the words of Michael Scott: “No! God! No! Please! No!”
THE SPECTATOR
“Inside the struggle for technological control in South Africa”
Check out Bridget’s most recent article for The Spectator, “Inside the struggle for technological control in South Africa,” which examines the growing threat of digital colonialism, a global fight between Elon Musk’s bright future and China’s dystopian ambitions. Bridget writes, “When technology threatens entrenched systems of control, even rhinos become political.”
PIRATE WIRES
Trump’s America Executive Orders, Pardons, DEI, Elon
Bridget joined Mike Solana for the revamped Pirate Wires podcast to discuss the Big Beautiful Bill, genetically engineered super babies, and the breakup of the century, as Trump and Elon’s Golden Era comes to a close. Unfortunately, the Pirate Wires podcast is no more, so enjoy this last one while you can.
All of us are crazy. That's why we watch/listen to you!
Eggs? At least womxn have the possibility. Me, I wish I had frozen my prostate. And my brain. And maybe my liver. Also, I've been reading a lot of Carl Jung lately. The verdict is clear: no man will ever understand any woman unless the man is extravagantly bearded, nearsighted, and Swiss.
