January 23 - Why I Live Where I Live
The grind was incredibly difficult and it’s a miracle I didn’t end up in the adult film industry.
Why do you live where you are?
Los Angeles, the city of dreams, the city that I now consider home. I’ve lived here longer than I lived anywhere. When I sped across the plains and the Rockies and desert with my friend Dusty in 1999, I had huge dreams of becoming an actress. I’d been doing improv and theater and film back in Minneapolis and felt ready to take on the world (even though I was recently out of rehab). We landed in the Valley and struggled to “make it” working odd jobs or doing extra work.
The grind was incredibly difficult and it’s a miracle I didn’t end up in the adult film industry. Looking back, I was so young and so very lost. It’s the same story of many young souls who come to Los Angeles in search of fame and fortune. Many of us end up dead.
