It’s pouring rain. Los Angeles isn’t built for this kind of deluge and neither, apparently, is the house I rent which is 100 years old. The roof is leaking, so we have towels and buckets out until we can get it fixed. From the looks of it, that fix coming won’t be for a couple of days.

I love this weather though. It makes it easy to sit in silence and listen. The sound of the rain and my dog’s soft snore puts me in that contemplative state. But I don’t need to meditate to the pitter patter of rain to know what’s calling me on the deepest level—it’s a book. I’ve been working on the outline for weeks. It was inspired by the “I Regret Being A Slut” piece, the response to which was overwhelming. The YouTube video has almost 100,000 views. I’ve received hundreds of emails. There is something there, something only I can bring into the world.
