Farewell, Real America + Phetasy Digest
Trump Can't Handle the Truth | Woo Girl, Woo | Fangirl Walk-Ins Welcome Episode | What Happened in Butler? | Holiday Party Phetasy Style | Lord Take Me Back to 1989 | Dumpster World!
You guys had some great Christmas movie feedback on last week’s Phetasy Digest. Kent recommended The Thin Man (1934), a perfect movie that I’d forgotten is basically a Christmas movie. Funny enough, Fatman (2020) also appeared among your recommendations.
I’ve since encountered a few more Christmas movies worth adding to last week’s list, including Holiday Affair (1949), a romantic film featuring the wonderful Robert Mitchum, and Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence (1983), a war film featuring David Bowie—a great Christmas movie for anyone interested in WWII-era Japanese military torture techniques.
This week marked the end of Real America with Bridget Phetasy. I loved Real America. You guys made it so special.
So we partied…Phetasy style. It was a blast. If you weren’t at the party, it’s not too late to put it on and relive it like you were there.
So long, Real America…for now. Merry Christmas, Pham.

THE SPECTATOR
I want 1989 for Christmas
“I’m yearning for an analog world. For tactile experiences. Cool piano keys I can stumble over. Encyclopedias I can flip through, getting lost in whatever the pages land on when I open the book. I yearn for the stereo sound of a record when an entire side has played, uninterrupted. I want people to have to reach me on my terms, when I’m home or available, not at any and all times.”

The movie Holiday Affair with Robert Mitchum and Janet Leigh was wonderful. Thanks for the tip and Merry Christmas! 🎄
