Data Center Christmas Movies + Phetasy Digest
The RFK Impression is Back, AI is much smarter than Kim Kardashian, Parental Surveillance is Getting Serious, The Constitution is BASED, AI Gifts for the Looming Robo-pocalypse
How do you guys feel about me writing about movies in the Phetasy Digest for the rest of the year? This last leg of the year is always perfect for a good cinematic experience. This week, I’ve been obsessed with two very different movies: Eddington (2025) and The Bishop’s Wife (1947). Both are outstanding and worth your time.
Eddington is an A24 film that stars Joaquin Phoenix as a BASED small-town sheriff facing off with cucky incumbent mayor played by Pedro Pascal. Eddington is what happens when Ari Aster directs a Western—Aster is known for his artsy Horror films. It taps into our collective COVID trauma and the political insanity that has followed, including the rise of data centers.
Then, after confronting the horrors of data centers, you can hop into Christmas with The Bishop’s Wife, which stars Cary Grant, who plays an angel whose intentions aren’t always entirely clear. The beautiful Loretta Young plays the Bishop’s wife. The Bishop is David Niven, who portrayed James Bond…in Casino Royale, the James Bond parody. The Bishop’s Wife is a lovely Christmas movie, very wholesome, fun, exciting, lovely. Lots of similarities to It’s a Wonderful Life, so if you’re looking for a good alternative, here you go.
Stay safe out there, Pham.

TRADING PLACES is the greatest Christmas movie of all time. That is all.
“It was a stone groove my man…”
“The Bishop’s Wife” is a go to movie for me every year. I watch it 2 or 3 times! I’m obsessed with it. My second go to movie for the holidays is just that - “The Holiday”, with Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz. Also obsessed with that one, and watch it all throughout the year! Of course any Scrooge movie is always playing throughout the Christmas season as well. My new tree should be arriving today, so definitely time to throw on some fabulous Christmas movies while I deck the halls!
