If we are taking this phrase literally, then no, I do not believe in love at first sight. I hated the man I am about to marry when I met him. We were both trying to be people that we weren’t when we met. One to impress and the other to assert dominance. I’ll let you guess which is which.
Love is a beautiful, delicate thing. I think love at first sight does happen with some people. It’s completely possible. It just didn’t in my case. Love came to me over time and I found that I was better for it.
I sense many will say that it isn’t love, but lust at first sight. I’m not sure I believe that either. Of course you can be physically attracted to someone, but that does not mean that you’re going to pursue that person.
In my belief, lust has to come first, because that lust drives the inevitable connection. It’s rare that people connect emotionally first. It does happen, but it’s a looks game much more.
