Where you “belong” helps to define who you are.
Sometimes you choose where you belong: cliques, or clubs; sometimes you
belong because of a trait, attribute or belief you share with others-
family, race, ethnicity, religion, class.
Community can form as a consequence of commonly held beliefs, shared
vision, or it can emerge in opposition to others’ beliefs, dreams or
visions.
Think of one community or group to which you belong.
In 1-2 pages (no less than one page, no more than two pages), write an essay that answers the following two questions:
· What sort of “rules” or “expectations” does your community or group
impose on its members? (These rules may be explicit or implicit, spoken
or unspoken.)
· What purpose do the rules serve?
