This playlist is all over the place, but I think it might be my favorite ever. Some old, some new, from hip hop to rock and roll it's a regular musical journey. Some of these songs literally saved my life during hard times, some are just good for nostalgia, some are done by up and coming artists you have never heard of... either way, you only have one job: plug some good speakers in, hit play and go with the flow.
The only way I know how....
Some of the songs orginally on this playlist we were unable to find on Playlist.com. In order to preserve the integrity of the DOC's playlist, the names are included below.
ChicagoThe Cobbler's Daughter - Kate Rusby The Fairest Of All Yarrow - Kate Rusby Four Fingered Fisherman (Modest Mouse cover) - Sun Kil Moon House Carpenter - Bob Dylan It Takes A Lot To Laugh, It Takes A Train To Cry [Alternate Take] - Bob Dylan Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues [Alternate Take] - Bob Dylan Live Long - Kings Of Convenience Making Pies - Patty Griffin Man Of Constant Sorrow [TV-Show] - Bob Dylan Sweet Bride - Kate Rusby The Weight Of My Words (Four Tet Remix) - Kings Of Convenience When The Ship Comes In [Live] - Bob Dylan The Wild Goose - Kate Rusby

If you are lucky enough to be in one of the many cities Atmosphere is hitting up while on tour, I suggest you get your ass on Craigslist and get some tickets. Say what you will about hip hop, but when this motherfucker takes words and bends them to his will, people stop and listen.
There's been a lot of good music coming out this year. I wanted to share some of the recent albums we've been jammin' to here at The Feta!

DOC Rx: New Year Immunizations - Just go get them
Bob Dylan – No Direction Home (The Soundtrack) The Dylan stuff is all mostly bootleg, alternate takes, live recordings...
My Morning Jacket - It Still Moves This album is great, rock ‘n roll with some real folk and southern overtones.
American Iron Man – Shawn Carter (Jay-Z) vs. Tony Starks (Ghostface Killah) - It's a mixtape that blends both HOV and GFK... I love this!
Wu-Tang Clan - 8 diagrams Their newest release to date... RZA gives you the dark-ass feel of this album. Method Man is a BEAST! on this album, but of course he is. If Meth releases a solo project it’s WAK, but if Method Man is on someone else's record he kills it and almost dominates any track he is on. Example: Campfire - feat. Method Man, Ghostface Killah, and Cappadonna.
Patty Griffin - 1000 Kisses She is amazing! This album is pretty sad, but we all need her songwriting and her powerful voice. And in the words of Ram Doss "The light we are headed towards also embraces the darkness".

Danger Mouse - From Man To Mouse (Import)
Phetasy has that FIRE! The 30 year old New Yorker dropped quite the teaser album on us, before he's willing to give us Gnarls Barkley’s follow up album to St. Elsewhere; Atlantis is due out at some point. (Don't worry I'll remind you about that one.)
In the past few years Danger Mouse had been keeping pretty busy with acts like The Good, The Bad and The Queen, Gorillaz and the King himself, MF Doom. In From Man to Mouse you get more of the DJ side of D.M., with remixes like Big L over Rhode Island’s Non-Prophets’ - Bounce (Sage Francis and Joey Beats make up Non-Prophets). I would say my favorite track is easily To Be a Black Boy performed by L.A.'s very own Murs. Murs tells the story of Marcus Dixon, a Georgia teenager unjustly charged with raping a white girl (if you don't know the story I suggest you check it out). And last but not least the stars aligned for just a moment and two of my favorite musical acts did a track together, that’s right you guessed it, MF Doom and Zero 7 drop Somersault (Danger Mouse Remix) on us. The best parts of both acts shine in this one.
Danger Mouse does amazing job as usual. He shocked the world with The Grey Album (Jay-Z's Black Album and The Beatles' White Album... actually, do I really have to explain this? Seriously....) He made you dance on Demon Days and St. Elsewhere, and on this little teaser I think Danger Mouse wants to affirm his hip-hop roots. We here at Phetasy honor that.
P.S. - A little birdie told me he is also producing The Black Keys’ new album Attack and Release which is supposed be released in 2008.... we will have to wait and see.
Peace for now class, make sure ya'll do your homework.

Ghostface Killah - The Big Doe Rehab Tony Starks a.k.a Ghostface Killah has done it again. Back with a follow up to his so-so release earlier in 2007 More Fish which really should have been an album for his entourage instead of being labeled a GFK album. Nevertheless, Pretty Toney has delivered a monster for Def Jam and the Carter Administration (President Shawn Carter). The Big Doe Rehab has some real grit and anger from Staten Island’s favorite son. With songs like The Barrel Brothers, featuring the fresh-out-of-jail Beanie Sigel and Styles P (formally of the LOX), as well as a classic storybook-style track Yolanda's House, featuring Wu-Tang brothers, Method Man and Raekwon. This album was very much needed in the hip-hop community. With so much "hip-pop" as of late, it’s nice to hear that classic 90's rap sound. Thanks Tony we needed this. DOC
