I wish that we had more time in this city. After yuppie Seattle, Vancouver was refreshingly dirty. We were really only here for two nights, getting in late the first night we arrived after being delayed by the border patrol. We stayed at my yoga friend Kim’s flat, with her roommate, her beau Mc, his brother and their two dogs—another regular refugee camp. Mostly we just drank and celebrated our 3 month anniversary on the road. There is something gritty about Vancouver that I like. A seedy underbelly. It just has that vibe—a lot of drugs, a lot of homeless and a lot of Starbucks. I like even more that it is set against the backdrop of beautiful British Columbia. God save the Queen.
