E3- Los Angeles, CA
For those of you out of the “gamer” loop, E3 is the largest electronic games convention in the world. A multimillion-dollar production, this conference puts every other portal of the entertainment industry to shame. One booth alone may cost millions of dollars to design and create. Thousands of gamers pack the conference every day just dying to see what is new in the virtual world that rules their lives. Lifeless drones wandering from one screen to the next, drooling over one imaginary character after the other, toting around free gift bags chock-full-o’ useless crap, and programmers paler than the bottom of a new born baby surrounded by the massive waste of time that they have created for the general public. Here is my take on what goes through some of these peoples heads on a day-to-day basis: I have built cities and watched them crumble at my fingertips. I’ve traveled through 30 galaxies, landed on 327 planets, and have brought intergalactic empires to their knees. I have been in twelve wars, led 73 tactical air strikes and freed some 400 hostages. I have led 17 baseball teams to the World Series, 14 football teams to the Superbowl, and 21 NBA teams to the Final Four every year. I have been a dwarf, an elf, a soldier, an alien, a hedgehog, a criminal, a woman, and an all-star athlete among other things. I have played God with the lives of thousands. I still live with my parents, but own seven gaming systems and a state of the art home entertainment system. I am a gamer…
