If you guys dont know who Julieta Venegas is, you need to grab this Late Pass!
With a brand new MTV Unplugged album, she's one of the most talented artist out there today hands down!
PLUS find out who Ximena Sariñana is. Both straight out of Mexico!

This is one Late Pass you can't miss!

Julieta Venegas & Ximena Sariņana: 2 Latina artist you should be looking out for!...
Julieta Venegas

I first got put onto Julieta Venegas by my father. That's right! my pops was like, you need to check her out. He sent me a email with this video in there:

So then after I watched a couple of her videos on YouTube I had to get Limon y Sal, the album the song was from. Now, I know that it may be hard to listen and try liking 'cause it's in a foreign language... but I guess I do that with alot of music, from listening to Japanese, Hindu... the Amelie sountrack sometimes... I dunno...

Anyway, turns out that Limon y Sal is her 4th album... so I had to listen to her back catalog, and fell in love with her music.

Just last month she released her MTV Unplugged album. Not since Nirvana back in '94 has an MTV Unplugged made such an impact on me. I remember exactly the first time when Nirvana Unplugged aired on MTV and thinking "wow, this is historic right here". Julieta has done an equally if not better Unplugged than the legendary Seattle band did.

I happen to think it's an amazing work of art, and quite possibly the album of the year IMHO...If you wanna peep the whole performance MTV Tr3s is currently streaming the whole thing:

The GOE's Julieta Pick:

Ximena Sariñana

...and there's also Ximena Sariñana, who came out of nowhere sounding sooo beautifull!...

Turns out I first heard her on the Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind soundtrack and didn't even know it. This young singer brings soo much soul and passion to her music it's hard not to like her. She kinda reminds me of a Latina version of Fiona Apple. At only 22 years old, she's bound for greatness!
Her debut album (Mediocre) was released in February by Warner and is purely amazing; I recommend it to everyone.

Even though she has a couple of videos floating around, "Vidas Paralelas" (Parallel Lives) is her current and first official single. Watch it here:

I am currently obsessed with her song "La Tina (The Tub)"
Grab The GOE's Ximena pick here while it's hot!

...and also the song "Monitor" wich is a cover from the Mexican band Volovan, but I happen to like Ximena's version better....

....aaaaaand.... just recently I found this other video of hers that kicks ass too:

Hope you guys like and enjoy... y buen provecho!
