Danger Mouse - From Man To Mouse (Import)

Phetasy has that FIRE! The 30 year old New Yorker dropped quite the teaser album on us, before he's willing to give us Gnarls Barkley’s follow up album to St. Elsewhere; Atlantis is due out at some point.  (Don't worry I'll remind you about that one.)

In the past few years Danger Mouse had been keeping pretty busy with acts like The Good, The Bad and The Queen,
Gorillaz and the King himself, MF Doom.  In From Man to Mouse you get more of the DJ side of D.M., with remixes like Big L over Rhode Island’s Non-Prophets’ - Bounce  (Sage Francis and Joey Beats make up Non-Prophets).  I would say my favorite track is easily To Be a Black Boy performed by L.A.'s very own Murs.  Murs tells the story of Marcus Dixon, a Georgia teenager unjustly charged with raping a white girl (if you don't know the story I suggest you check it out).  And last but not least the stars aligned for just a moment and two of my favorite musical acts did a track together, that’s right you guessed it, MF Doom and Zero 7 drop Somersault (Danger Mouse Remix) on us. The best parts of both acts shine in this one.

Danger Mouse does amazing job as usual.  He shocked the world with The Grey Album (Jay-Z's Black Album and The Beatles' White Album...  actually, do I really have to explain this?  Seriously....) He made you dance on Demon Days and St. Elsewhere, and on this little teaser I think Danger Mouse wants to affirm his hip-hop roots. We here at Phetasy honor that.

P.S. - A little birdie told me he is also producing The Black Keys’ new album Attack and Release which is supposed be released in 2008.... we will have to wait and see.

Peace for now class, make sure ya'll do your homework.
